OSRS Hespori Guide: The Demonic Farming Boss

Hidden within the Farming Guild is a unique challenge that combines combat with the Farming skill: the Hespori. This demonic, plant-like creature is a solo-only skilling boss that you can grow and fight periodically for unique and valuable rewards.

This guide will show you how to plant the seed, the mechanics of the fight, and why you should be fighting this boss regularly.

Getting Started: The Hespori Seed

To face the Hespori, you first need to grow one.

  • The Seed: You must obtain a Hespori seed.
  • How to Get It: Hespori seeds are a rare drop from many Farming activities, including:
    • Checking the health of trees, fruit trees, and other crops.
    • Completing Farming Contracts in the Farming Guild (this is a very reliable source).
    • Harvesting crops.
  • Planting: Once you have a seed, take it to the Hespori patch located in the cave on the west side of the Farming Guild's central area. The Hespori takes 24 to 32 hours to fully grow.

The Fight: A Simple Encounter

The Hespori fight is a straightforward solo encounter that requires one key mechanic.

Hespori's Attacks

  • Standard Attacks: Hespori will alternate between Ranged and Magic attacks. You can choose to pray against one and tank the other.
  • Binding Attack: Occasionally, Hespori will screech and launch a projectile that will bind you in place if it hits.

The Core Mechanic: The Flowers

Periodically throughout the fight, Hespori will become immune to damage and shout "Feel the sting of my thorns!" At this point, four flowers will open up around the arena.

  • The Strategy: You must immediately stop attacking the boss and destroy all four of these flowers. Once the last flower is dead, Hespori will become vulnerable again, and you can resume attacking it.
  • The fight is a simple cycle: Attack Boss -> Kill Flowers -> Attack Boss -> Kill Flowers.

The Hespori is weak to Slash attacks.

  • Weapon: An Abyssal Whip, Tentacle Whip, or even a Dragon Scimitar will work perfectly.
  • Armour: Wear your best offensive melee gear (Fighter Torso, Bandos, etc.) combined with Ranged defence (Dragonhide or Armadyl). A Slayer Helmet will not work as it is not a Slayer task.
  • Spec Weapon: A Dragon Dagger (p++) or Crystal Halberd can be used to speed up the flower-killing phase.
  • Inventory: Your weapon, a few prayer potions, food, and an antipoison for the start of the fight.

The Rewards: The Bottomless Bucket

The Hespori has a unique drop table with a focus on valuable seeds and one grand prize.

  • Guaranteed Seeds: Every kill guarantees a drop of various high-tier tree, fruit tree, and herb seeds.
  • Bottomless Compost Bucket (1/35): This is the main reason to fight the Hespori. This incredible item can be charged with up to 10,000 uses of any type of compost. It essentially acts as an infinite compost bucket, saving a huge amount of inventory space and making farm runs much smoother.
  • White Lily Seeds: A rare drop used for a special flower in the POH.
  • Tangleroot Pet: You also have a chance of receiving the Farming pet from this activity.

Conclusion

The Hespori is a fantastic piece of content that adds a fun, periodic combat challenge to the Farming skill. The fight is simple, the regular rewards are always useful, and the Bottomless Compost Bucket is one of the best quality-of-life items any farmer could ask for. Make sure to plant a Hespori seed whenever you get one!
