OSRS Slayer Masters Guide: Finding Your Assignment (2025 Update)

Slayer Masters are the core of the Slayer skill, assigning you tasks to hunt monsters across Gielinor. Choosing the right master for your level and goals is key to efficient training. The Slayer system has recently been updated, buffing early-game point rewards and giving each master their own unique block list, making your choice more strategic than ever.

This guide covers all Slayer Masters, their locations, requirements, and their updated point rewards.

(Masters are listed in order of increasing requirements.)

1. Turael / Spria

  • Location: Turael is in Burthorpe. Spria is in Draynor Village.
  • Requirements: None.
  • Task Difficulty: Very Easy.
  • Points: 0 points per task.
  • Special: Can replace your current task from another master. Warning: This RESETS your task streak to 0.
  • Use Case: Still the go-to for "point boosting" (completing 9 tasks here, then a milestone task at a high-level master) or for resetting a terrible task when you have no points to skip.

2. Krystilia

  • Location: Edgeville jail.
  • Requirements: None.
  • Task Difficulty: Variable (Tasks are exclusively in the Wilderness).
  • Points: 25 points per task (Highest base points).
  • Special: Tasks can drop Larran's Keys for valuable loot. Uses the same task streak as all other masters.
  • Use Case: The absolute fastest way to earn Slayer Points, but comes with the high risk of being attacked by PKers.

3. Mazchna

  • Location: Canifis.
  • Requirements: 20 Combat, Priest in Peril.
  • Task Difficulty: Easy / Low-Medium.
  • Points: 6 points per task (up from 2). Milestone bonuses apply (e.g., 90 points for a 50th task).
  • Use Case: Thanks to the update, Mazchna is now a fantastic master for new players. You can earn a solid number of points just by training normally without needing to point boost.

4. Vannaka

  • Location: Edgeville Dungeon.
  • Requirements: 40 Combat.
  • Task Difficulty: Medium.
  • Points: 8 points per task (up from 4). Milestone bonuses are now very significant (e.g., 120 points for a 50th task).
  • Use Case: A very popular mid-level master. The recent points buff makes him even more rewarding and helps players build a solid point-base for their first unlocks and blocks.

5. Chaeldar

  • Location: Zanaris (requires start of Lost City).
  • Requirements: 70 Combat.
  • Task Difficulty: Medium-Hard.
  • Points: 10 points per task.
  • Use Case: The bridge between mid-game and high-level slayer, introducing tougher monsters like metal dragons.

6. Konar quo Maten

  • Location: Mount Karuulm summit.
  • Requirements: 75 Combat.
  • Task Difficulty: Hard (Tasks are location-specific).
  • Points: 18 points per task.
  • Special: Monsters can drop Brimstone Keys, which open a chest for valuable loot.
  • Use Case: An excellent choice for making money while training Slayer. The location restrictions can be a drawback, but the high points and key drops make her very popular for milestone tasks.

7. Nieve / Steve

  • Location: Gnome Stronghold.
  • Requirements: 85 Combat.
  • Task Difficulty: Hard / Very Hard.
  • Points: 12 points per task.
  • Use Case: A fantastic and easily accessible high-level master. Her task list is very similar to Duradel's and is perfect for players focused on efficient XP and profit. (Replaced by Steve after Monkey Madness II).

8. Duradel / Kuradal

  • Location: Shilo Village (requires Shilo Village quest).
  • Requirements: 100 Combat, 50 Slayer.
  • Task Difficulty: Very Hard.
  • Points: 15 points per task.
  • Use Case: Widely considered the best master for high-level players seeking the fastest XP rates and most challenging tasks. (Replaced by Kuradal during and after While Guthix Sleeps).

The New Slayer Interface & Per-Master Block Lists

A major recent update introduced a huge quality-of-life feature: each Slayer Master now has their own unique block list. You no longer have to spend 100 points changing your blocks when you switch from Duradel to Krystilia. Furthermore, you can now view a master's complete task list and block tasks directly from the UI without having to be assigned them first.
