Infernal Cape Service Prep Guide (OSRS Gear & Stats Needed) - Tons of XP
Getting an Infernal Cape service from Tons of XP? Our guide covers the recommended OSRS gear, stats, and account prep needed for a smooth & fast completion by our pros.
Preparing for Your Infernal Cape Service: Gear & Stats Guide (Tons of XP)
The Infernal Cape. It's one of the most respected items in Old School RuneScape, a real sign you've mastered tough PvM. But the Inferno itself is incredibly hard, needing almost perfect clicks and focus for hours. That's why many players choose a reliable Infernal Cape service like ours at Tons of XP (check the service page).
While our expert players handle the brutal waves and Zuk fight for you (always 100% hand-done, no bots! See our Hand-Trained Guarantee), having the right gear and stats on your account is vital for us to complete the service smoothly, quickly, and successfully. This guide covers the recommended setup. This is true end-game content, far beyond the beginner bossing ladder.
Minimum & Recommended Stats
Our pros are good, but better stats always make the Inferno run safer and more consistent.
- Minimum Requirements (Need these):
- 75+ Defence
- 94+ Magic (Important for Blood Barrage healing and Vengeance)
- 75+ Ranged (Higher is MUCH better)
- 77+ Prayer (To use Rigour & Augury prayers)
- 70+ Hitpoints (Honestly, 85+ HP makes a big difference)
- Recommended Stats (Makes it faster/smoother):
- 90+ Defence
- 99 Magic
- 99 Ranged
- 90+ Hitpoints
- 90+ Prayer (More prayer points, longer prayer duration)
Note: If your stats are a bit under the recommended, we can often still do it, but it might take longer or need more supplies (which could slightly change the price). Hit up our live chat support to talk about your specific stats!
Gear Setups: From Bare Minimum to Best-in-Slot
Better gear = easier and faster Inferno clear. Simple as that. We list some setups, but the main things are Ranged accuracy/damage, Magic accuracy, and Prayer bonus. Check our general Gear Progression Guide for item context.
- Budget / Minimum Setup (Possible, but harder for us):
- Weapon: Toxic Blowpipe (Amethyst darts+), Armadyl Crossbow (Ruby/Diamond bolts (e))
- Magic: Trident of the Swamp / maybe Sanguinesti Staff if owned
- Armour: Armadyl Chest/Legs are best, but Blessed D'hide body/chaps can work if needed.
- Helmet: Armadyl Helmet / Slayer Helmet (i) (MUST tell us if on task) / Verac's Helm (for prayer)
- Shield: Crystal Shield (imbued) / Dragonfire Ward / Book of Darkness (basic magic off-hand)
- Amulet: Necklace of Anguish > Amulet of Fury
- Cape: Ava's Assembler (essential) / Max Cape
- Gloves: Barrows Gloves
- Boots: Pegasian Boots > Blessed D'hide Boots
- Ring: Archer's Ring (i) (imbued) / Ring of Suffering (i) (Recoil helps a bit)
- Spec: Eldritch Staff spec (if owned for prayer) / Blowpipe spec
- Mid-Tier / Recommended Setup (Good balance):
- Weapon: Toxic Blowpipe (Dragon darts+), Armadyl Crossbow / Bow of Faerdhinen (Bowfa, needs full Crystal Armour)
- Magic: Sanguinesti Staff > Trident of the Swamp
- Armour: Armadyl Chest/Legs > Masori Body/Chaps (f) (if affordable)
- Helmet: Armadyl Helmet / Masori Mask (f) / Slayer Helmet (i) (if on task)
- Shield: Elysian/Spectral Spirit Shield (great defensive help) / Crystal Shield (imbued) / Dragonfire Ward

- Gloves: Zaryte Vambraces > Barrows Gloves
- Boots: Pegasian Boots
- Ring: Ring of Suffering (i) / Archer's Ring (i)
- Spec: Eldritch Staff spec > Blowpipe spec
- Best-in-Slot (Makes it smoothest/fastest for our pro):
- Weapon: Twisted Bow (Huge advantage!), Toxic Blowpipe (Dragon darts)
- Magic: Sanguinesti Staff / Tumeken's Shadow
- Armour: Full Masori Armour (f) (Assembled)
- Helmet: Masori Mask (f) / Slayer Helmet (i) (if on task)

- Gloves: Zaryte Vambraces
- Boots: Pegasian Boots
- Ring: Ring of Suffering (i) / Venator Ring (sometimes useful)
- Spec: Eldritch Staff spec > Zaryte Crossbow spec / Blowpipe spec
Important Things to Note:
- Imbued Rings: Make sure rings (Archer, Suffering) are imbued from NMZ or Soul Wars. It matters.
- Ava's Device: Need Assembler ideally. Accumulator minimum.
- Supplies: We typically use supplies on your account (Runes for Blood Barrage, darts, scales, brews, restores etc.). Make sure you have plenty, or talk to us about supply costs. Having extra GP (e.g. 5-10m) in the inventory (not bank) is wise for emergency supplies.
- Bank PIN: WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR BANK PIN. Make sure gear needed is in inventory or reachable without PIN. Avoid scams!
- Account Access: We just need login email/username & password. Change your password after we're done – we always recommend this for safety.
Getting Your Account Ready for the Service
- Organize Gear: Have the gear we agreed on ready (repaired!) in inventory or easily grabbed from the first bank tab.
- Stock Supplies: Have plenty of runes, darts/arrows, scales, staminas, brews, restores, etc., easily accessible. We'll confirm amounts needed.
- Bank PIN Access (If Needed): If essential gear is PIN protected, temporarily disable PIN only if absolutely necessary for us to grab gear at the start. Re-enable it right after. Never give us the PIN number.
- Authenticator: Keep it on, but be ready to give us the code when our player logs in to start.
- Communicate: Tell us if you happen to get a TzHaar Slayer task active right before the service.
Having the right setup lets our pro players get your Infernal Cape done quickly and safely. We focus on 100% manual completion – no funny business, just skilled gameplay. Our services give you peace of mind.
