OSRS Update: More Poll 84, Key Fixes & The Shadow of Yama!

Another week in Gielinor, and Jagex has rolled out a fresh game update! This one delivers more goodies from Poll 84, bids farewell to the Easter event, squashes an annoying Loot Tracker bug, and, most excitingly, drops heavy hints about a formidable new foe arriving next week: Yama! Let's break down everything new.

Poll 84 Goodness Continues!

Players are seeing more of their voted-for changes come to life with this update.

Meleeing Zulrah? It's a Thing Now!

Ever looked at Zulrah and thought, "I really wish I could whack that snake with my halberd"? Well, now you can! Inspired by its viability in Leagues, players can now deal Melee damage to Zulrah using halberd-type weapons.

Jagex clarifies that this isn't intended to dethrone the traditional Magic or Ranged strategies at Zulrah. Think of it as a fun alternative or a niche option if your Melee setup significantly outclasses your other combat styles. It might be particularly useful during Zulrah's crimson (red) phase. Even the Crystal Halberd's special attack could see some situational use for finishing off phases.

So, while you might not be setting new speedrun records with a scythe, it's a cool addition for those who like to experiment! For comprehensive strategies, check out our Zulrah Guide.

Giant's Foundry: Faster Clicks, Better Swords!

Smithing enthusiasts at the Giant's Foundry get a nice little QoL buff. If you're quick on the draw and hit a bonus action shortly after it appears, you'll now recover a portion of any missed quality on your sword (assuming quality was lost). This makes those speedy, precise clicks even more rewarding! Don't worry if you're not fast enough for the quality recovery; you'll still get the usual progress on your sword.

Farewell, Easter Bunny!

The chocolate eggs have been eaten, the carrot dances performed, and the 2025 Easter Event has officially concluded. If you missed out on the festivities, there's always next year!

Client & Mobile Updates: Loot Tracker Fixed!

A client update pushed out recently brought a very welcome fix for the Loot Tracker.

Loot Tracker Bug Squashed

Many players have experienced issues with their Loot Tracker database becoming corrupted, leading to annoying game stutters (especially when ground items spawn) or even client crashes. This update addresses the root cause. For those already affected, there's a manual fix:

  1. Find a safe area in-game (the process might slow your client temporarily).
  2. In your chatbox, type ::repairlt and press Enter.
  3. A message "Attempting to repair LootTracker save" will appear.
  4. Wait for the process to complete (up to a minute). You'll receive a confirmation message.

This should resolve any pre-existing corruption issues. Additionally, a rendering issue with long submenus has also been fixed.

Other Changes & Bug Fixes

A handful of smaller, yet appreciated, changes and fixes have also been implemented:

  • Slayer Ring (1): No longer gets duplicated during a teleport if the teleport fails.
  • Rag and Bone Man II: The rabbit in Civitas illa Fortis now correctly drops a rabbit bone for the quest.
  • Combat Achievements: Killing Hellhounds in the Wilderness now correctly completes the "A Demon's Best Friend" task.
  • Snakeskin Bandanas: Now use the correct graphic for chatheads.
  • Chambers of Xeric: You'll now receive a chat message indicating the size of the raid layout when you start.

Blame Yama: The Countdown Begins!

If this week's update feels a bit lighter than usual, Jagex has a very good reason: they're putting all hands on deck for the release of Yama, a brand new, endgame duo boss, slated for release on May 14th!

Described as a master of pacts with near-unlimited power, Yama is not to be taken lightly. It's time to find a trusty partner and prepare for a serious challenge. Who will you team up with?

PvP World Rota

The PvP rota has shifted to Period B:

  • 560 (UK): PvP World
  • 319 (US): Bounty Hunter World
  • 579 (US): High-Risk PvP World
  • 561 (UK): Free-to-Play PvP World
  • 580 (US): LMS Competitive

Note: World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive and World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter have been de-activated with this rotation. The PvP Arena is featuring 'Zerker' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.

This update brings some neat Poll 84 additions, a crucial bug fix, and builds major anticipation for Yama's arrival. Get your gear ready, Scapers!
