Stackable Clues Are Here! The OSRS Update We've All Waited For!

This is not a drill, Scapers! The day has finally come. Jagex has just released one of the most requested updates in Old School history: Stackable Clue Scrolls! No more banking mid-slayer task, no more missing out on clue drops because you forgot one in the bank. This update is a game-changer for treasure hunters everywhere, and it's packed with a ton of other fantastic QoL improvements. Let's dig in!

Stackable Clues: The Dream Is Real

The centerpiece of this update is the new Scroll Box system, revolutionizing how we collect and complete clues.

How It Works: Scroll Boxes & Stack Limits

  • Unlocking the System: Once you've completed the X Marks the Spot quest, all traditional Clue Scroll drops will be replaced by new Scroll Boxes.
  • Stack 'Em Up: These boxes stack neatly in your inventory and bank, allowing you to hold multiple clues of the same tier at once!
  • The Catch (There's Always a Catch): You start with a default stack limit of 2 clues per tier. If you get a drop while at your cap, you'll see the dreaded "sneaking suspicion" message and miss out.

Raising Your Cap: Scroll Cases & The Mimic

Want to hoard more clues? You can increase your stack limit from 2 all the way up to 5 per tier!

  1. Scroll Cases: These are new, consumable items you'll receive in your clue caskets after hitting certain completion milestones. There are Minor and Major cases, and consuming one permanently increases the cap for that specific clue tier by +1.
  2. The Mimic: Defeating the Mimic boss from a Master casket now grants a Mimic Scroll Case, which boosts your clue capacity by +1 across ALL tiers!

Here are the completion counts needed for the regular Scroll Cases:

TierCompletions for Minor Case (+1)Completions for Major Case (+1)
Beginner50100
Easy100200
Medium100250
Hard50150
Elite50150
Master2575

Best of all, this is retroactive! If you've already met these requirements, your cap will be increased on login. You can track your progress on Watson's Treasure Trails board in his house.

Huge PvM & Skilling Quality of Life Changes

This update wasn't just about clues. We got a massive batch of other awesome improvements!

Bossing & Monster Hunting Upgrades

  • Duke Sucellus Smoothed Out: Feeding the Duke is way less frustrating! You can't accidentally use more than two potions at once, the potions and mushrooms are now stackable (!!), and you can left-click to feed him ground mushrooms. Huge inventory savers! Check out our updated Duke Guide for more info.
  • Obor & Bryophyta Buffs: The Giant and Mossy Keys are now twice as common, dropping at a 1/16 rate instead of 1/32. Plus, you can one-shot Bryophyta's Growthlings with an axe or Magic Secateurs equipped. Time to farm those uniques!
  • TzHaar Weakness: TzHaar creatures now have a 40% weakness to water spells. Time to dust off those water spells for the Fight Caves!
  • Kephri Room Tweak: Your Thralls will no longer count towards the Arcane Scarab's hit count, preventing it from moving unnecessarily.

Other Welcome Changes

  • Soul Wars Nerf: The GP value per Spoils of War crate has been "significantly reduced." The pet rate is unchanged, so the grind for Lil Creator is the same.
  • Steel Ring Buff: This forgotten ring now has a +24 Crush Defence bonus, making it a solid, well-rounded defensive option.
  • Monster Inspect Cheaper: The spell now uses Body and Mind runes instead of the more expensive Cosmic runes.
  • Plenty of typo fixes, grammar corrections, and small visual tweaks to make the game smoother.

PvP World Rota

The PvP rota has moved to Period B. If you're a PvP enthusiast, check the official newspost for the specific world numbers for PvP, Bounty Hunter, and LMS.

This is a monumental update that touches one of the most beloved activities in the game. Get out there, complete X Marks the Spot if you haven't, and start stacking those caskets!
