For Daeyalt Essence, you MUST have completed 'Sins of the Father' and need Level 60 Mining. For Amethyst, you need Level 92 Mining and access to the Mining Guild (Falador Hard Diary helps for upper level).
Daeyalt Essence provides significantly increased Runecrafting XP when used at Guardians of the Rift. Amethyst is mined and then crafted (requires high Fletching/Smithing) into tips for the best Ranged ammunition like Amethyst Arrows and Broad Bolts (requires Slayer unlock).
