Trouble Brewing is one of Old School RuneScape's less-populated minigames, but it's a mandatory step for anyone looking to complete the Morytania Medium Achievement Diary. While the game itself has complex mechanics involving ingredients and sabotage, your goal is simple: play one game to tick off that diary task.

This guide will show you the absolute minimum you need to do to get credit for the diary, saving you time and confusion.

The Objective (For the Diary)

Your only goal is to play one full game of Trouble Brewing. You don't need to learn the intricate details of brewing rum, nor do you need to win. You just need to participate.

The Fastest Way to Complete the Task

Follow these simple steps to get your diary task done with minimal effort.

  1. Go to the Official World: Hop to World 304. This is the official themed world for Trouble Brewing, and it's your best bet for finding a game that will start.
  2. Travel to Port Phasmatys: The minigame is located at the port east of Canifis. You'll need to have completed the Priest in Peril quest to access Morytania.
  3. Wait for a Game to Start: Speak to one of the pirates in the lobby to join a team. You may have to wait a few minutes for a game to begin.
  4. Perform the Required Action: This is the most important step. To be credited with playing the game, you must contribute resources. The easiest way to do this is:
    • As soon as the game starts, grab a bucket from one of the tables in your base.
    • Run outside to the nearby water pump.
    • Fill the bucket with water.
    • Run back inside and empty the bucket of water into the large hopper in the center of your base.
  5. Wait for the Game to End: That's it. Once you have added at least one bucket of water, you have officially participated. You can now simply stand in a safe spot and wait for the 20-minute timer to run out.

Once the game ends, you will receive a message in your chatbox confirming you have completed the Morytania Diary task.

What If I Want to Actually Play?

If you're interested in the minigame itself, the goal is to have your team brew more rum than the opposing team. This involves:

  • Collecting ingredients (water, scorched logs, coloured flowers).
  • Adding them to the hopper.
  • Managing the machinery.
  • Sabotaging the enemy team's equipment.

For the purpose of the diary, however, none of this is necessary. Just add your bucket of water, sit back, and enjoy the sea shanties while you wait for your achievement.
