Frequently Asked Questions
It's an 'Experienced' quest with 'Medium' length, typically taking 45-75 minutes. It involves tracking, dungeon exploration, some travel, and cutscenes.
You need to complete 12 prerequisite quests (including Shield of Arrav, Temple of Ikov, Below Ice Mountain, etc.). You also need 55 Smithing and 52 Hunter. The OSRS Wiki states these skill levels are required to start and cannot be boosted.
You need a Chaos Core (dropped by Chaos Golems in Camdozaal, obtainable during the quest) and a Barronite deposit (mined in Camdozaal, obtainable during the quest) or a pickaxe to mine it. Combat gear is essential.
You fight multiple Armoured Zombies (Level 85) in a multi-combat dungeon. Protect from Melee is recommended as most use melee. A Salve amulet is useful as they are undead. The combat is manageable for mid-levels (65+ recommended).
The main rewards are 2 Quest Points, significant XP in Smithing (15k) and Hunter (15k), access to Zemouregal's Base, and an Antique Lamp for 5k XP in a skill >=30 (plus 5 Kudos) obtained from Historian Minas after the quest.
After activating the shield in Camdozaal, you consult Reldo and find a list of elders. You compare this list with the Varrock Census and visit the descendants (Sir Prysin, Romeo, Horvik, Curator Haig Halen, Aeonisig Raispher). One descendant (random per player) will reveal their ancestor was adopted, pointing you to the Fitzharmon family (Dimintheis) in SE Varrock.
