You need to have completed The Fremennik Trials. You also need 40 Firemaking and 50 Woodcutting; the OSRS Wiki indicates these skill requirements can be boosted.
You need any Woodcutting axe, a Tinderbox, and a Spade. 6 Ropes are needed for a bridge section, but these can be picked up inside the quest cave. Combat gear and food are recommended for the enemies inside.
You'll fight level 40 Skeleton Fremennik (easy) and a level 100 boss, Ulfric. Ulfric is undead and can be safespotted using his grave. Using Protect from Melee, Crumble Undead spell, and/or a Salve amulet is effective.
This cave, accessed by digging near the windswept tree after the quest, contains Brine Rats, which are Slayer monsters requiring level 47 Slayer to kill.
