Swan Song is a Master quest of medium length, typically taking 1 to 1.5 hours. It involves travel, gathering specific items, multiple combat encounters, and some skilling actions (fishing, cooking, smithing).
You need 100 Quest Points and completion of One Small Favour and Garden of Tranquillity. Several skills are needed *during* the quest: 66 Magic, 62 Cooking, 62 Fishing, 45 Smithing, 42 Firemaking, and 40 Crafting. All these skill levels can be boosted.
Key items include: 10 Mist runes, 10 Lava runes, 5 Blood runes, 7 Bones (obtainable during), an Airtight Pot (Pot + Pot Lid, can be made during), 5 Iron bars (or pickaxe), Logs (or axe), Tinderbox, Hammer. A Small fishing net and Brown apron are given if needed.
You fight waves of Sea Trolls (level 65-101) initially, assisted by the Wise Old Man. The final boss is the Sea Troll Queen (Level 170), who uses Melee and strong Magic attacks, including a prayer drain if you safespot her. Protect from Magic is recommended if meleeing.
Monkfish are a popular high-healing food (heal 16 HP) requiring 62 Fishing to catch. Completing Swan Song is the only way to gain access to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony where they can be caught.
It's complicated. The OSRS Wiki advises *against* starting the RFD subquest before finishing the 'Repairing the Colony' section of Swan Song, as the Wise Old Man's dialogue might conflict. Complete the repair part first, then do the RFD section, then finish Swan Song.
