It's a long and potentially frustrating quest, typically taking 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The duration heavily depends on your Agility level due to the high failure rate of obstacles, which may require repeated attempts.

You must complete Biohazard and Plague City. You also need 25 Ranged for an action during the quest (this can be boosted). While not required, 50+ Agility is highly recommended to reduce failure rates on obstacles, and 50 Thieving provides a significant shortcut, bypassing a difficult agility maze.

Essential items are a Rope (2 recommended), a Bow (any type), 1-5 Arrows (must be metal-tipped, non-poison; see wiki for exclusions), and a Spade. A Bucket and Tinderbox are also needed but can be obtained inside. It's highly recommended to bring plenty of food, Agility potions or Summer pies (if low Agility), Stamina/Energy potions, Prayer potions (if using protection prayers), and combat gear.

You fight three level 91 demons, three level 62 Paladins, and a level 89 spider (Kalrag). All of these can be safespotted or fought with Protect from Melee. The final encounter with Iban involves dodging damaging floor spikes rather than direct combat; you need to run to a well to use the quest item.

Iban's Staff is the main reward. It allows casting the Iban Blast spell (requires 50 Magic), which is a powerful and cost-effective magic attack, popular for mid-level PvM and PvP. The staff requires recharging by dipping it in the Well of Voyage after completing the quest.
