OSRS Bone Voyage Quest Guide: Unlocking Fossil Island

Bone Voyage is a relatively short and simple quest, but it unlocks one of the most important and content-rich areas in all of Old School RuneScape: Fossil Island. This island is a skilling paradise, and completing this quest should be a top priority for any account.

Quest Requirements

Quest Requirements:

  • You must have completed The Dig Site.

Other Requirements:

  • You must have at least 100 kudos in the Varrock Museum.
    • You can get kudos easily by completing the Natural History Quiz and cleaning the Finds in the museum basement.

  • None, but teleports to Varrock and the Digsite will be very helpful.

Quick Quest Walkthrough

The quest involves a lot of dialogue but is very simple to follow.

Step 1: Starting the Quest

  • Speak to Curator Haig Halen on the ground floor of the Varrock Museum. He will tell you about the museum's plans for an expedition to Fossil Island.

Step 2: The Barge

  • The Curator will direct you to the Digsite. Go to the barge located at the southern end of the Digsite river.
  • Speak to the Barge Foreman. He will tell you that the barge needs to be secured before it can set sail.

Step 3: Securing the Barge

  • Speak to the Lead Navigator and the two Barge Guardsmen on the barge. They will each give you a simple task to complete to prepare the boat. This involves simple interactions with objects on the barge itself.

Step 4: The Junior Navigator

  • The Foreman will now tell you that the Junior Navigator is missing. You will find him at the nearby pub, the Exam Centre.
  • Speak to the Junior Navigator, who will be very drunk. Convince him to return to the barge.

Step 5: Setting Sail

  • Return to the barge and speak to the Foreman one last time. A cutscene will play showing your voyage to the mysterious island.

Congratulations, quest complete!
