OSRS Jelly Guide: Slayer Task Locations & Strategy

Jellies are gooey, magical creatures assigned as a Slayer task for mid-level players. Found exclusively in the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon, these wobbly foes are a straightforward and often profitable task, known for their weakness to Melee and their generous clue scroll drop rate.

Location and Requirements

  • Slayer Level: 52.
  • Location: The Fremennik Slayer Dungeon. This is their only spawn location.
  • Getting There: The fastest way to reach the dungeon is by using an Enchanted Lyre to teleport directly to Rellekka, or by using the Fremennik sea boots. From Rellekka, run south-east.

The Fight Strategy

Jellies are a very simple monster to kill, with one primary attack style.

  • Attack Style: They exclusively use a Magic-based attack.
  • The Strategy:
    • Prayer: The most efficient method is to use Protect from Magic. This will block a large portion of their damage, though some can still get through.
    • Tanking: Alternatively, you can wear gear with a high Magic Defence bonus, such as Dragonhide armour, and tank their hits with food.
  • Weakness: Jellies have extremely low Melee defence. They have no specific weakness, so your highest-damage Melee weapon is the best choice.

Your gear should be focused on maximizing your Melee damage output and your Magic defence.

  • Weapon: Your best Melee weapon, such as an Abyssal Whip or Dragon Scimitar.
  • Armour: Wear your Slayer Helmet and a mix of Strength-boosting gear (Fighter Torso, Dragon boots) and Magic defence gear (a d'hide body or Karil's leathertop). A Dragonfire Shield is an excellent choice for its high magic defence bonus.
  • Inventory: Bring prayer potions if you are protecting from magic, or good food if you are tanking. High-level alchemy runes are also recommended, as they drop a good number of alchable items.

Notable Drops

Jellies are a popular task due to their solid and consistent loot table.

  • Hard Clue Scroll (1/128): They are an excellent source of hard clues.
  • Runes: They drop a good quantity of water, death, and chaos runes.
  • Alchables: Their most common valuable drops are mithril kiteshields and rune full helms.

Ironman Strategy

Jellies are a great task for mid-game Ironmen.

  • Clue Scrolls: The high drop rate of hard clues is a major draw, offering a chance at blessed d'hide and other valuable unique items.
  • Alchables: The consistent rune and alchable drops provide a good source of GP for the account.
  • Low Supply Usage: Because their attacks are easily mitigated, it's a very low-resource task, allowing Ironmen to save their more valuable food and potions.
